Structures in the system of hospital and university hospital system are essential for the performance of a medical facility. The composition of technical departments, of the different service areas, the size and orientation of treatment and assisting service groups are relevant for cost-effectiveness, success of treatment and quality of a facility.
We analyse the structures and services of medical facilities and put them in shape for an economic and patient-oriented workflow. Modern process-orientated structures have lower operating costs than old hub-and-spoke structures focussed on an out-of-date departmental structure.
Vertical disciplines, areas of internal medicine or specialist medical fields are increasingly supplemented with structures which work together and which are made available to the patient by means of service centres, competence centres, wards, networks and interdisciplinary work groups.
Medical structures of the up-to-date kind have a lot of advantages for the patient without giving away the hospital's responsibility for the patient. We plan these structures and implement them directly into everyday clinical practice.
